Transportation and Handling
Keep it Level: Always hold the cake box from the bottom, not the sides, and keep it flat.
Vehicle Safety: Transport in the footwell or the boot (trunk) of an SUV to keep it level. Avoid passenger seats.
Temperature Control: Keep the car cool with air conditioning, especially in hot weather. Keep the cake out of direct sunlight.
Stability: Drive slowly and avoid sharp turns or sudden stops.
Storage & Serving
Refrigeration: Refrigerate the cake immediately upon arrival.
Serving Temp: Remove the cake from the fridge 1–2 hours before serving to allow it to reach room temperature for the best taste and texture. The buttercream will be solid otherwise!
Storage: Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Leftovers: Wrap leftovers in plastic wrap or an airtight container to prevent drying. Refrigerate for up to one week or freeze for up to 3 months.
Cutting & Display
Preparation: Remove all 3D decorations, flowers, and candles before cutting.
Cutting Technique: Use a sharp knife dipped in hot water and wiped clean between slices for clean, easy cuts.
Stable Surface: Place the cake on a sturdy table, out of direct sunlight.
Support: Note that tiered cakes usually contain dowels/supports; remove these before serving.
